The Willy Street Park Society, an all- volunteer group, has announced it will sponsor a tour of 12 gardens in the Williamson-Marquette neighborhood on Sunday, July 19th from 1-4. Tickets will be available on the day of the event at the Willy Street Park on the corner of Brearly and Williamson Street. For details call 242-0712.

Concerts in the Garden continue at Olbrich Gardens next week. Enjoy the evening with a concert every Tuesday on the Great Lawn of Olbrich's outdoor gardens. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Picnics are allowed in the Gardens for Tuesday concerts only. The gardens are located at 3330 Atwood Avenue in Madison. For details call 246-4550.

South Madison Health and Family Center , Harambee, has announced it will hold a free Summer Canoeing program for South Madison Kids. The workshops and canoe days will be held at Wingra Park, 700 Knickerbocker Street and will offer 3 great ways for kids and families to enjoy canoeing this summer. The first workshop will be held Friday and the first canoe day will be this Saturday. For details call 261-9138.

Registration has begun for the Monona Public Library play "The Life of Beethoven", performed by the Traveling Lantern Theater Company on July 21st at 1 pm. The play is designed for the K-6 age group and focuses on how genius and dedication overcome disability in the true story of this composer’s life. The Madison Area Technical College is looking for mentors and short-term hosts for a group of 20 international students. These students come from developing world countries such as Egypt, Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Turkey and Indonesia. Their study in Madison is made possible by grant funding.
