The Occupy Madison Action Work Group sponsors a banner- and sign-holding on the theme of "Occupy Madison! Don't Settle For the Status Quo!" this Friday from 4-6pm, at Brittingham Park and West Washington. For more info, call 442-8399.

Open Gym Fundraiser at Madtown Twisters West, 7035 Old Sauk Road, this Saturday from 12:15 to 2:15pm. Funds raised support Satellite’s work with family child care providers. There will be activities and equipment for all ages and a suggested donation for children, no charge for adults. The donation includes a ticket for prize drawing. For more information call 270-3438.

Team up with UW students, staff, faculty and the Madison community to participate in Cycle for Sight, an indoor cycling charity event to support research to prevent and treat blinding eye diseases at UW Eye Research Institute. The event will be held this Saturday between 10AM and 2PM at the Natatorium and the SERF on campus and entails a 50-minute spinning class with high-energy music and trained instructors. A Week of Action to Mark the One-Year Anniversary of the Wisconsin Uprising!  This Saturday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm is the Kick-off Rally at the State Capitol by the State Street stairs.  People from across Wisconsin will converge in Madison for a Week of Action to commemorate the one-year anniversary of last year’s Wisconsin Uprising and the sustained occupation of the Capitol building. This Saturday and Sunday, from 9AM to 5PM, The Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) is having two full-day seminars. ‘Organizer Training!’ will be held at the UW-Madison Memorial Union. The training is a two-day intensive crash course on union organizing, grounded in the experience of IWW organizers across the continent.
