5:00 pm at the UW-Madison Memorial Union Tripp Commons is “Uprising!”; a talk, reception, and book signing with John Nichols, author of a new book on how the WI Uprising renewed the politics of protest from Madison to Wall Street. The UW Memorial Union is located at 800 Langdon Street.

Tonight at the MATC downtown campus is a fundraiser called “THE WISCONSIN UPRISING, ONE YEAR ON: WHAT HAPPENED & WHAT NEXT?” with speakers Eric Cobb, Ruth Conniff, Sam Jordan, Ben Manski, John Nichols and Tina Treviño-Murphy. There is a sliding fee admission and no one turned away for lack of funds. This is room D240 of the MATC downtown campus, 211 North Carroll Street. Go to cersc.org for more information.

The 10th Annual Bob Marley Birthday Tribute and Community Dance Party Benefit featuring music by the Mt. Zion Sound System and Kingtown Rockers, and WORT DJs Tropical Riddims. There is a reduced admission with a food item. Proceeds benefit the Wilmar Neighborhood Center food pantry.
