This afternoon, the Rainbow Connection Discussion Group meets. The group is for LGBT people with mental health challenges. This is from 4 to 6 at OutReach, 600 Williamson Street, Suite P-1. Check lgbtoutreach.org for more details.

Today and tomorrow, Amnesty International holds “Shine a Light” to honor International Human Rights Day. This is to bring freedom to prisoners of conscience and demand justice for survivors of torture. They are having two write-a-tons: tonight at the South Park Street Public Library, 2222 South Park Street, from 6 to 8, and tomorrow at the Central Library, 201 West Mifflin Street, from 11 to 5:30. Tonight, the Crosshatxh Poetry Series continues with Wisconsin's newest Poet Laureate, Bruce Dethlefsen, spoken word artist Danez Smith, Cathryn Cofell, with her poetry/music trio Obvious Dog, and host/curator Laurel Bastian.
