Tonight, Community Action on Latin America presents a free screening of Oliver Stone's new documentary film "South of the Border", on political changes taking place in South America. This is followed with a live video discussion with the film's co-writer Mark Weisbrot about what we can do to improve U.S.-Latin America policy. Tomorrow afternoon, Rainbow Bookstore hosts Jonathan Shailor, who will read from his new book “Performing New Lives: Prison Theater”. Shailor is Associate Professor of Communication and director of the Program in Conflict Analysis & Resolution at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. This weekend, the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Afro-American Studies and the Campus Women's Center present Ntozake Shange's play “For Colored Girls Who've Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf”. The play is a series of 20 poems expressing the many struggles and obstacles that African-American women face throughout their lives like love, abandonment, rape, and abortion. It's being produced, directed and performed by undergraduates. It will be performed at 7:00 tomorrow and Sunday in the H'Doubler performance space in Lathrop Hall, 1050 University Avenue. It is free and open to the public.

Tomorrow night, the Freewheel Bike Shop hosts a fundraiser, featuring music from Medusa's Beard and The Backyard Still. FreeWheel is a community bicycle workshop run by volunteers where you can bring your bike and repair it or tune it up using tools and parts from the shop. There is a suggested donation. Sunday morning, Madison Hours hold its monthly Pancake Breakfast. All pancakes are organic and vegan with nuts or fruits. There’s oven-roasted potatoes, organic fair trade coffee, orange juice, and live music. Madison HOURS promotes local trade through local currency. Sunday, Rainbow Bookstore holds its 21st Annual General Membership Meeting. Attendees can learn about what's new at the cooperative bookstore, help elect the new board of directors, and enjoy a potluck. Bring a dish or drink to share.
