Saturday, local author T. A. Sedlak is hosting the release party for his debut novel, “Anarcho Grow,” a fast paced story featuring a young Madisonian male protagonist in a small village in Costa Rica. The party will feature a reading and book-signing by the author and cover artist Leslie W. LePere, and musical performances by Wisconsin musicians Bill Camplin, David Sewell, and a surprise special guest. This is at 3040 Commercial Avenue from 1 to 6pm. Saturday from 10 to 3, an Urban Horticultural Field Day will be held at 8502 Mineral Point Road, about a mile west of the beltline. Children’s activities, Artist in the Garden, University of Wisconsin Extension specialists and organic gardening student interns will be on-site. Saturday from 10 – 2 Bay Creek Neighborhood kids will host a “Wagon Drive” for food and school supplies at the corner of West Lakeside Street and Lawrence Street. Donations and supplies collected will benefit families that utilize the Saint Marks Lutheran Church Food Pantry located at 605 Spruce Street and other neighborhood organizations that support families with school age children. Sunday, from 11 am to 6pm, the Bayview Foundation celebrates the twenty-fifth Triangle Ethnic Fest! Performers include “Gaelic Fusion Dance Company”, “Salaam Shalom”, and the “Goo Goo Peas”. Sample a variety of ethnic food and gourmet ice-cream! Make a splash in the dunk tank, scoop up some snowcones or check out critters from the Vilas Zoo. Sunday at 2 pm, the the Yahara River Grocery Cooperative in Stoughton is holding the first of two screenings and discussions of FRESH the Movie as part of its Eat Local, America challenge. This is at the Stoughton Village Players theater at 225 East Main Street in Stoughton. The screening will be followed by a discussion with several local food producers.
