This evening and tomorrow evening, Prairie Fire Bio Fuels Cooperative host lectures on running diesel engines on vegetable oil with Alexander Noack, a BioFuels Engineer for Elsbett in Germany. All day today, tomorrow and Sunday, the Cooperative also hosts an open house demonstrating the technology. The event is free to members, but a small charge applies to the public. This is at the Coop shop, 1894 East Washington Avenue, with the lectures the evening from 5 to 6 and tomorrow from 4 to 5. Sunday, Melanie Herzog, Art Historian at Edgewood College, speaks on her latest book, Milton Rogovin: The Making of a Social Documentary Photographer. In her book, she chronicles the story of the man behind the photographs that show the tenacity, profound dignity, and resilience of people living in extremely difficult circumstances. Sunday, the Peregrine Forum hosts the film “Until When?”. The film follows lives of four Palestinian families living in Dheisheh Refugee Camp in Bethlehem. They talk about their past and discuss the future with humor, sorrow, frustration and, occasionally, with hope. This is at 7 at Escape Java Joint, 916 Williamson Street, at 6:30.
