Monday at noon on WORT’s A Public Affair host Norm Stockwell speaks with Stuart Levitan regarding his new"Madison, The Illustrated Sesquicentennial History"", Volume 1, 1856--1931. It highlights Madison’s early history from its first days as a city to the Great Depression. Biographical vignettes tell the stories of city’s early residents. Call 256-2001 for details.

Monday evening on WORT’s Access Hour host Barbara Golden discusses the work of Madison Area Family Advisory and Advocacy Coalition (MAFAAC). They have an anti-racism mission and advocate on behalf of African-American families in the schools. That’s at 7:00. Call 256-2001 for details.

"Schools of Hope" is a tutoring and mentoring program in area middle schools. The Urban League of Greater Madison intends to close the achievement gap between youth of color and Caucasian youth. They need to "Witness the Hope and Knowledge," that professional African-American’s and other groups of color can contribute to their classrooms and schools. Call 251-8550 for details.

Project Home seeks applicants for its annual "Hammer for a Heart" project to be held in May. Last year more then three hundred and fifty volunteers provided eighty-five thousand dollars worth of repairs.
