Madison-Vilnius Sister Cities invites you to attend Lithuania's Independence Day this Friday, at the Capital Lakes Retirement Community, 333 W. Main St., in the Great Hall & Encore Room. There is a parking lot in front of the retirement community building. It is a Social and delicious Lithuanian style snacks will be provided and a 25 minute movie, "Lithuania. Status: Independent". Starts at 6:00 p.m.

The Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin announces the Carter Fuller Memory Screening Day, a free and confidential memory screening open to the public on Saturday, from 10am-4pm at the Urban League of Greater Madison, 2222 S. Park St. This will include a short informational program on Alzheimer's disease at 10am. To reserve a spot, call 232-3400 by Friday at 5.

This Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Tamarack Gallery, Suite 102 (849 E. Washington Ave.) there will be a participatory planning session that will set the stage for a statewide people’s assembly, called the WisConvocation, to take place in the weeks to come. Participants in the WisConvocation will deliberate on issues of public concern and formulate proposals for action including: a People’s Budget, a People’s Platform, and a list of demands for candidates participating in the 2012 recall elections.  For information email organizerbrian@gmail.com.

The 7th Annual Lowellpalooza fundraiser for Lowell Elementary and the Lowell Home Student Association is this Sunday, from 4:30 to 7:00 pm at the Harmony Bar & Grill 2200 Atwood with the FORWARD!
