Today, the Silly Yak Bakery and Bread Barn, 7866 Mineral Point Rd, will be raising funds for the UW American Family Children’s Hospital from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. A percentage of all sales will benefit the hospital. More info at sillyyakbakery.com or 833.5965.

A new group is forming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals who are seriously committed to stopping smoking. The group will meet once a week for 7 weeks and will be a combination of education and support that will offer members strategies to become and stay a non-smoker. The Tenant Resource Center has announced its 8th Annual Cookoff Hors D’Oeuvres competition on March 26th. The event is a fundraiser for its Housing Crisis Fund. The fund makes small grants to individuals and families who are at risk of losing their housing due to a temporary loss of income or large unexpected one-time expense. Madison-based pianist Jonathan Kuuskoski and award-winning saxophonist Chris Dickhaus are the Anhinga PianoSAX Duo, a new group devoted to performing innovative and engaging community concerts. They will offer a free concert on Friday at 12:15 at the First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive featuring works by Claude Debussy, Robert Muzcynski, Frederic Chopin, and Astor Piazzolla, among others.
