This evening Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice (WNPJ) host a post hearing celebration of the 1:00 Public Hearing before the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee on AB203. It will be a fundraiser for “Veterans for Peace, Milwaukee's homeless vets initiative and Madison Porchlight's “Vets House”. It is in the Brocach Pub, 7 Main Street at 5:00. This evening there is a Madison Urban Ministry (MUM) volunteer session. Participants learn about volunteering for programs such as “Mentoring Connections” which matches caring, trained adult mentors with children who have an incarcerated parent. This evening the “Outreach” organization will hold an in-service on navigating the system of caregiver support. “Claire Culbertson” of the “Area Agency on Aging of Dane County” will speak about resources and support available through the “National Family Caregiver Support Program.” This is at 6:00 in 600 Williamson Street. Today through February “Friends of Drumlin Community Gardens” presents a grassroots art show. Over a dozen activists fighting to preserve “Drumlin Gardens” will be featured. This is at Mother Fools Coffee House, 1101 Williamson Street. For details call 262-9036.
