This afternoon the “Print Culture Colloquium hosts Sharmila Sreekumar, Associate Professor of India’s “Department of Humanities and Social Science at the Indian Institute of Technology.” She will speak on “Going Public: Some Early “Avataars” of the Trivandrum Public Library in Kerala, India”. This evening the Madison Infoshop hosts the “Muffin Club” group for women interested in talking with others about health issues. The current discussion is about the topic of “Birth”. Tomorrow afternoon “Vets for Peace” and others host a “Safeguard the Guard Rally and Press Conference”. Featured will be Mike Fisher, Vermont legislator and author of state-level legislation challenging federal misuse of the National Guard. This is at 12:30 in the State Capitol Rotunda. It will be followed by a 1:00 Public Hearing before the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee on AB203 in Room 412, Capitol East. Call 250-9240 for details.

On-going Olbrich Botanical Gardens Bolz Conservatory features an exhibit entitled, “chocolate.” The exhibit highlights the journey from cacao tree seeds (also known as cocoa beans) to chocolate.
