Registration is now open for the upcoming free introductory session of the Alexander Technique at Willy Street Coop on June 15th at 7pm. The session is designed to teach attendees to experience their natural potential to move with ease in a supportive environment and to learn skills of self-observation and tension release in everyday movement. Registration has begun for the PINS FOR PORCHLIGHT bowling event to be held Sunday June 14th at Ten Pin Alley, 6285 Nesbitt Rd. The afternoon of bowling fun is a fund raiser for Porchlight, an organization aiming to strike out homelessness in our community. The Portage Center for the Arts, 301 Cook St in Portage, has developed a Children Theatre program for children ages 8 -13. The program will include a three-week workshop held Monday through Friday and actual performances to follow. OutReach, Madison & South Central Wisconsin’s (LGBT) Community Center, is seeking nominations of individuals, organizations and businesses that have made make a substantial contribution to improving equality and quality of life for LGBT people in South Central Wisconsin. Awards will be presented at OutReach’s 17th Annual Community Awards Banquet, to be held Friday, July 17th, at the Monona Terrace. Nomination forms are available at OutReach (600 Williamson St, 255-8582) or on-line at lgbtoutreach.org. Nominations must be received by June 21, 2009.

The Goodman Community Center offers free meals every Friday. Everyone is welcome, although a large number of guests are older adults. The meals nourish the body and the soul by providing fellowship among the attendees. Friday meals are served promptly at noon at 149 Waubesa Street.
