It's Today's Action Calendar! For this weekend, August 5 to August 7

On Saturday, join Mayor Dave Cieslewicz for the Third Annual Community Gardens Bike Tour from 9am to 12pm. The tour will begin at the Atwood Garden at Ohio and St Paul St near Café Zoma. Maps will be distributed. The tour will reach ST Paul Community Garden at 10am and riders can also join then. The last stop will be Troy Community Garden, on Troy Dr; we’ll join Troy’s Savor the Summer Festival, with food and music by local bands. For more info, call Janet Parker at 246-4730, ext. 218.

On Saturday, The National Federation of the Blind Dane county Chapter hosts an outreach and fundraising barbecue. The federation is an advocacy organization that promotes opportunity and equality for blind people. The event begins at noon at 2041 Helena Street. Donations are appreciated. Also on Saturday, Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative hosts a nationally touring display of original prints, graphics and reproductions celebrating the history and movement culture of the International Workers of the World in honor of their 100th anniversary of the Industrial Workers of the World. The opening features Paul Buhle, a historian of American radicalism. He is co-editor of "Wobblies! A Graphic History". The opening reception is at 7 at Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative, 426 West Gilman Street. For more information, call 257-6050.
