This morning the “Service Employees International Union” hosts a rally to protest the inauguration of Governor elect, Scott Walker and other new state legislators. This is at 9:00 on the corner of Main Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Call 414-207-8165 for details.
 
This morning the “South Central Federation of Labor” holds a silent rally outside the State Capitol building to protest the inauguration as Governor of Scott Walker. It has been initiated by his policies regarding cutting pay and benefits for thousands of workers among other things. This is at 11:15 outside the State Capitol building. Call 256-5111 for details.
 
This evening the group, “One Wisconsin Now” hosts “Rock the Pantry.” It is a benefit with all proceeds going to charities assisting people hardest hit by the economic collapse. It will include progressive speakers and live music. This is at 7:00 in the Majestic Theatre, 115 King Street. Call 204-0677 for details.
 
This evening the “Goodman South Madison Branch” library hosts a free knitting workshop. Participants may bring that unfinished project or start something new. Some supplies may be available.  This is at 6:00 in 2222 South Park Street, meeting room 115. Call 266-6395 for details.
