Tonight at 5 PM, the Tenant Resource Center will hold its 8th Annual Cook-off Hors D’Oeuvres competition at the Brink Lounge, 701 E Washington Avenue. The event is a fundraiser for the Housing Crisis Fund. The fund makes small grants to individuals and families who are at risk of losing their housing due to a temporary loss of income or large unexpected one-time expense. Donations will be accepted at the event or can be made online at tenantresourcecenter.org.

On Sunday the UW Arboretum will offer a nature walk from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. Birds are returning from the south. Neo-tropical migrants spend the winter in Central and South America then return here to nest. Participants will look for early migrants and early nesters among yearlong residents. On Sunday the Madison Tao Sangha Center will hold a fundraiser for the Haitian Community Hospital from 11 to 4 pm at Happy Bambino, 4116 Monona Dr in Monona. 100% of the donations will go to Haiti. Sessions must be reserved by calling 257-4663.
Tonight from 5 to 8, a Benefit Concert will be held at High Noon Saloon, 701 E Washington Ave, for the Grass Routes Bicycle Caravan to Detroit and the U.S. Social Forum. The event will feature live music from Subvocal, Orphan Bloom and Thistle and the Thorns plus a premiere performance from Madison's own clown army! More info at grassroutescaravan.org

Friday through Sunday, MidBash, a Regional Co-op Gathering hosted by NASCO will take place in Minneapolis, MN. The weekend provides an opportunity for co-op networking and training through workshops, skill shares, and through hands-on experiences with local co-ops of all kinds. The event is free. Sunday at 7 pm, the left Film Club will sponsor a screening of Walk on the Wild Side - a film about the relationship between Simone de Beauvoir and Nelson Algren.
