The Literacy Network, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing basic literacy services to adults and families in Dane County. Registration has begun for volunteer workshops to be held on September 8 at 1118 South Park Street in Madison. Tonight at 7 PM, SalonQ, an inclusive adult LGBT social and discussion group, will meet at Outreach, 600 Williamson Street in Madison. The group meets weekly and is designed for any member of the community looking for a safe and healthy way to meet and get to know new people. Radio Active, a Madison area, all-volunteer, community theater group which recreates old-time radio shows is holding auditions for a performance on October 17. During the show, actors read from scripts at microphones, while live sound effects, music, and vintage commercials add to the fun and authenticity of the production.
