The film “Farmageddon” will be shown tonight at 7pm. “Farmageddon” tells the story of small, family farms that were providing safe, healthy foods to their communities and were forced to stop by agents of misguided government bureaucracies. Tonight at 8:30pm, actress Rhodessa Jones will discuss her work with “The Medea Project” and the documentary on incarcerated women around the world. This event is free and is going to be held at the Red Gym on the UW Madison campus, 716 Langdon Street. For more information, please contact 263-3353.

Running through December 31st, Olbrich Botanical Gardens presents “Treasures of the Rainforest”. Discover various everyday products that originate in the rainforests and see the plants they come from up close in the tropical Bolz Conservatory. This is ongoing daily between 10am and 4pm at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave. Call 246-4550 for more information.

The Respite Center is a safe place for kids, ages birth to fourteen, whose families are under stress or in crisis. They are looking for volunteers to play with kids four hours a week. Training is required. Call 244-5730 for details.

Community Literacy is a Literacy Network ESL program designed to tutor adult learners one-on-one in a classroom setting where childcare and additional tutor support are available.
