Tonight at 7:00 pm the Rainbow Bookstore Co-op, 426 W. Gilman, is having a talk with the author, Rob Nixon on his book 'Slow Violence and the Environmentalism of the Poor'. Rob Nixon explores the gradual and often ignored violence of environmental degradation, toxins, deforestation, and oil drilling in the Global South and Persian Gulf. The Respite Center is a safe place for kids, ages birth to fourteen, whose families are under stress or in crisis. They are looking for volunteers to play with kids four hours a week. Training is required. Call 244-5730 for details.

Wisconsin Books to Prisoners is a non-profit organization sponsored by “Rainbow bookstore” that sends books to prisoners in Wisconsin and other states.
