Tonight at 6 pm, a Wildflower Walk will be offered by Good Oak Nurseries. The walk will focus on the spring wildflowers at Elvehjem and Heritage Sanctuaries on Madison's east side. Expect to see wild geranium, great white trillium, jack-in-the-pulpit, May apples, columbine and many more in bloom. Tonight at 7 pm at Rainbow Bookstore, 426 W. Gilman, Cyberpunk Apocalypse with Elwin Cotman, author of the Jack Daniels Sessions EP, and Daniel Patrick McCloskey will provide an evening of entertainment, magic, comics, despair, excitement, and speculation. The Alliance for Animals is offering free yard signs to anyone in the community who wishes to display support for a resolution to form a citizens advisory panel to study the ethical issue of experimenting on monkeys in Dane County. OutReach, Madison & south-central Wisconsin’s LGBT community center and Domestic Abuse Intervention Services are now offering a support group for men dealing with the effects of emotional, verbal, and physical abuse by a partner or ex-partner. This is an open, crisis-based, peer support group with an initial screening for group participation. The group will start Tuesday, June 1st and topics may include dynamics of abuse, safety planning, self-esteem, physical and emotional health, effects of domestic abuse on children, and community resources.
