This evening on WORT’s “Access Hour” hosts from the “Madison Astronomical Society” continues to observe the “International Year of Astronomy.” They will also discuss the current long solar minimum and the upcoming Orionid and Leonid meteor showers. Briarpatch seeks volunteers to work with teens in crises, either by answering the crises line, providing emergency shelter, or, acting as family counselors. Some positions may require training. Call 251-6211 for details or, to volunteer.

The Home Chore Volunteer Program needs help to assist frail, low-income, elderly people with basic home chores to remain independent in their own homes and neighborhoods. Chores include light housecleaning, laundry, yard work, and some painting. For details call 243-5252.
