Author Dan Ferber will give the lecture, “Changing Planet, Changing Health” on how the climate crisis threatens our health & what we can do about it. Thursday, May 5, 2011 - 7 pm. The East Side Players present Inherit the Wind, a play based on the Scopes Monkey Trial over the teaching of evolution in public schools. The trial famously pitted William Jennings Bryan against Clarence Darrow, representing the prosecution and the defense, respectively. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, May 5-7 at 7 PM, with a matinee Saturday at 2PM. All shows are in the Margaret Williams Theatre at Madison East High School. Ticket prices nominally priced tickets are available at the door. Concessions of home-baked goods to benefit East Side Players will be available at intermission.

Please join Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice on the ground floor Capitol Rotunda for a solidarity sing-along at noon, featuring best-loved songs from the labor and civil rights movements. Songbooks will be provided by the Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice. This is from 12pm – 1pm. This event is ongoing Monday through Friday.

Run, Democrats, Run! is a 14 lap, about 8 miles, protest run around the Capitol square. Run starts at the State Street corner and suits all runner levels. Feel free to join us for 1-14 laps!
