This afternoon, the Madison Area Peace Coalition, Madison Rafah Sister City Project, and others hold a gathering to protest the Bombing in Lebanon and Gaza: and a picket to Demand Ceasefire and Negotiated Settlement. This begins at 4:30 at 14 West Mifflin Street outside of Senator Kohl's office and proceeds to Representative Tammy Baldwin's office. Call Barb at 242-9232 for details.

Tonight, Brenda Konkel and Austin King host the next session of Progressive Dane's learning series. This session is “City Budget 101”. Alders Brenda Konkel and Austin King will explain how the city budget process works, how the public can give input on this process, and what budget cuts Madison can expect for this fall. This is free and open to the public and is in the main conference room at the Social Justice Center, 1202 Williamson Street, at 7. Tonight, UW-Madison African Studies Program and UW Cinematheque hosts the next film in the series entitled “Journeys in Recent African Cinema: Fighting for the Future”. This week's film is “Delwende” “del-WHEN-day” by S. Peirre Yameogo “PEE-air ya-MEE-go” about a true story of a daughter trying to find her mother to exonerate her of witchcraft.
